The WFC board has elected Mr. Yadil Medeu from KCSD Kazakhstan as the new WFC Chair. Additionally, they have elected Mr. Abdulla Abdin, the president of Bahrain Clear and AMEDA, as Vice Chair of the World Forum of Central Securities Depositories (WFC).
In a historic move, the WFC Secretary is now a joint effort between ACG and ECSDA, bringing together the strengths and expertise of both organizations.
For those unfamiliar with the WFC, it is a world group of CSDs that comprises five regional CSD associations, representing approximately 125 member CSDs.
These associations include the Asia-Pacific Central Securities Depository Group (ACG), the Americas’ Central Securities Depositories Association (ACSDA), the Association of Eurasian Central Securities Depositories (AECSD), the Africa and Middle East Depositories Association (AMEDA), and the European Central Securities Depositories Association (ECSDA).
