A special Thank-You to Mr. Mohamed Abdel Salam for his contributions, devotion and heartfelt efforts to AMEDA and the World Forum of CSDs Mr. Mohamed Abdel Salam has been a permanent fixture on AMEDA and the WFC Board since their inceptions more than 18 and 12 years ago. While not present physically, his influence was, and will continue to be felt in the future, as both AMEDA and the WFC strive to fulfill the vision he had for both organizations as AMEDA President for over 15 years and a Board member during his two terms as WFC Chairman in the WFC. Mr. Abdel Salam, or ‘Mr. Mohamed’ as he is known to many of his friends and colleagues in the world, was instrumental in the formation of AMEDA during the Global CSD conference “CSD8” held in New York, USA in 2005, and served as its President for more than 15 years until his retirement, and stepping down as AMEDA President. He still continues as Honorary President of AMEDA. ‘Mr. Mohamed’ was also instrumental in the founding of the WFC during the Global CSD conference “CSD11” held in Cape Town, South Africa in 2011, which was co-hosted by the Africa & Middle East Depositories Association (AMEDA) and Strate, the South African Depository. Whether discussing current industry issues, global politics, or the exploits of MCDR’s football (soccer) team, conversations with Mohamed were always interesting. Mr. Abdel Salam submitted his notice of retirement, and will be greatly missed by his industry friends and colleagues from across the globe. We want to take this opportunity to thank him for his tremendous contributions over the years and extend our best wishes for the future.
Very sincerely,
Your friends, family and colleagues of the World
